The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that he believes there is a great possibility of reaching a trade agreement with China during his meeting with the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, next week.
Speaking to reporters from his plane during a refueling stop in Doha, Trump said that “we really have a good chance to arrive at a very comprehensive agreement.”
He stressed the need to safeguard the well-being of American farmers, while pointing out that Xi seeks to achieve something meaningful from the meeting.
In addition, Trump mentioned that the issue of fentanyl will be discussed, which has caused many deaths in the United States and comes primarily from China.
The meeting between the two leaders is scheduled for October 30, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in the Republic of Korea.
